    Black Hole

Any fans of Charles Burns terrific series, Black Hole out there?

It a strange and dream-like tale of teenagers in the 1970s who contract a very contagious, sexually transmitted disease. This disease cause grotesque changes in them, and they literally take on the appearance of monsters.

At first glance this might seem tasteless and salacious, teenage sex leads to monsters, but Black Hole captures the end of innocence perfectly. A stunning work.

I saw my own 1980s teenage experience in this series. I never got a disease, but I did feel like a monster.
